John Forte Set To Perform For First Time In Eight Years

Just months after being pardoned by the president and released after serving almost 10 years in prison, John Forte is anxious and ready to get back to making music.

Last Thursday (March 5), he was among several surprise guests to join The Roots onstage during a performance at Highline Ballroom in NYC, and now he's announcing his very first live performance at this year's SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas.

The singer/producer will make his first performance in eight years for Talib Kweli's SXSW Blacksmith Records showcase on Thursday (March 19) at Scoot Inn.

John Forte is best known for producing and co-writing tracks for The Fugees' multi-platinum album The Score, as well as his two solo albums, I, John and PolySci. Today, as a free man, he's back in the studio, working on his highly-anticipated new full-length album.
