Nelly Remains in Top 10 First Week: Eminem Goes Triple Platinum

VIA

Hip-hop’s biggest artists slid down the Billboard Top 200 charts this week, as several new mainstream releases bombarded the shelves last week by such artists as Jackie Evancho, Rihanna, Kid Rock, the Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban, but Nelly still managed to land in the Top 10.

Outselling his projections, Nelly’s new disc, 5.0, grabbed the No. 10 spot, after selling 63,500 units in his first week on the charts. Kid Cudi didn’t fare so well, sliding 11 positions down from to No. 21. In its second week out The Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager’s sales dropped 79 percent from 169,400 to 36,000. To-date Cudder has moved 205,800 units off the shelves.

Two seats down at No. 23 is Eminem’s Recovery. The Detroit lyricist added 34,200 to his total tally, which now stands at 3,004,800. Shady officially reached the triple platinum mark after 22 weeks.

Rounding out the Top 40 is Lil Wayne. I Am Not A Human Being fell from No. 10 to No. 31 this week with 28,300 in sales. In eight weeks Weezy tips the scales at 474,400 units.

Next week look for big releases from Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Lloyd Banks and Jay-Z to impact the charts. —Elan Mancini

TI Covers the New Issue of Vibe

Sorry to say, but I think T.I. is one of the dumbest rappers alive! How can 1 man have so much, and do everything to fuck it up repeatedly. I also think his rapping skills are vanishing quickly. Hold your head TI!

Check out some excerpts from the article

ust a few days before T.I. had to turn himself into authorities once again, the predicate felon sat down with journalist, Erik Parker, and opened up about how someone who has been given so many chances ends up back in a prison cell. The Dec/Jan issue of VIBE hits news stands on Nov.30th.

VIBE: How did you get a drug habit?

T.I. : I had a lot of work done to my teeth. Oral surgery, extractions, six, seven, eight root canals. Between January to February. As soon as I got out, I had a lot of stuff done. In the joint, you eat shit that is unhealthy for you. I had fillings that fell out and stuff that had to get dealt with. Of course for the pain they gave me oxycontin and hydrocodone. And, mind you, on October 13, 2007, I had cut off everything―weed, alcohol. Then I get these pills and I start taking them for the pain at first. And then I’m like, Wait―this shit makes me feel good. And it’s legal. After the pain went away, I kept taking it. I had like five, six prescriptions. So I had, like 80 pills. Everybody else might have a drink or smoke a blunt, I took a pain pill. Times when I had 18-, 20-hour days, I’d take a pain pill. And eventually I developed―I guess―the beginning stages of dependence.

Lloyd Bank's Album Release Concert

I must say, I heard the Hunger For More part 2 record, and It's definitely not fucking with part 1. not sure how I feel about the album, I'm still sitting on it. Stay tuned for my critique.

Nicki Minaj Vs. Lil Kim: Whose Diss Track is Hotter

Although Nicki's track definitely goes in, I think this track is a throw away track. I don't like Eminem's verse at all. Nicki threw some great shots at Kim, but I'm going to say this, I think Lil Kim actually has a better over-all track. Plus I think there is a certain level of respect that Lil Kim is owed. I mean Nicki Minaj is a new comer in the game, and although she is on top right now, it's always wise to respect the people who have been doing this for 10 years.

I wonder if Lil Kim wrote that though?

You tell me who you think has a better diss track! I like both artists!

Streetz Alternative Radio @ streetz106.com EvErY SuNdAy 10 - 12am

During my college years at St. John's University, I ran my own radio show for 2 years (Junior and Senior year). I used to have a lot of fun, speaking about regular topics, and having control over what music I play on my own radio show. My show was called Gorillas in a Concrete Jungle, and got popular fast because because of my Freestyle Friday Show. I had the best dudes on campus come to the station to spit their bast freestyle, and before you know it, a lot of up and coming artists from Jamiaca, Queens decided to come through and lay down a freestyle. Unfortunately shortly after the momentum started to blast off officially, my father passed away and that devastated my mind-state.

Each and every Sunday T.I.A. and Bass ent. bring you "Streetz Alternative" from 10 - 12am! We feature great talent, interview relevant execs, models, actors and anyone relevant to the entertainment industry that is shinning.

The interview is just an example of how we get down in the radio studio. Shout out to DJ Naim and Trillogy for coming in for a fresh interview. Salute!!!

TIA Exclusive: Redman Around The World

I'm definitely pleased to announce that the Rap Icon "REDMAN" is one of our newest clients! Look out for a sit down 1 on 1 interview with the homie Red as he breaks down what's he been up to, and why such the hiatus for the haters! The industry's Alternative is the only digital marketing company distributing his exclusive content over the web. Meaning nothing that Def Jam owns (Non licensed Def Jam Music and Videos), had to put that in there for Disclaimer sake :). Redman will be dropping a video blog series to all Redman fans. The Industry's Alternative has the first video off of "Redman Around The World". All this footage is filmed during the "Red & Mef International Tour.

Shout out to Gulla-House/Def Jam for jumping on board of The Industry's Alternative Roster! #Lezgo!

I'm Back like I Left Somethin!!! : The Prelude

Hello World!! As you probably already know, I have been on the Hiatus with this blog shit because I was a bit confused on what direction I should be going with it. First I made it all about New Music, Entertainment News, Politics, gadgets and my own personal business endeavors. Then I decided to only post relative news about my company, and all the beautiful things I have been doing in the music business. The life of an entrepreneur has it's ups and downs, and often has you contemplating your purpose and often question your destiny.

When I was away, I achieved some great landmarks like,
Speaking at some of the biggest music seminars (New Music Seminar Cleveland, Coast 2 Coast Mixtape conference, New England Music seminar, SMES 1 & 2 etc.....

Have been working with some great signed and unsigned artists while achieving productive placement on and off-line...
-Plies
-T-Boz
-Trillogy
-A. Lewins
-C-Luk
-Anthony Bless
etc..

And just recently signed Redman Gilla-House/Def Jam to my online marketing roster! The Industry's Alternative will be the only online marketing company that will be distributing Redman's exclusive content to niche online publications.

I'm in pursuit of worldwide recognition that our services are very niche and necessary for every Musician to partake in. Breaking some of the biggest records to various high traffic online music destinations.

With that said, I VOW to renter the Blog Posting game, with my thoughts on relevant topics in today's entertainment world amongst other things!!! Every post you will read from now on will be things I find entertaining whether you like it or not :). Of course I will also putting footage different things I involve myself with so you can walk with me!

Strap your seatbelts in... It's going to be 1 hell of a ride!
