Diva Remix Ciara

Pretty tuff remix

D Woods Still on the Grind

She performed hits from her upcoming album which will be released in the Fall of 2009 and was accompanied on stage by Girls Club member Mika Means. I’m not even mad at the 1980’s tie up. D Woods style alone keeps her relevant.

Here is a little clip of her and her girl Mika performing in the MIA. I think D-Woods might actually be something. Excuse the bad quality.

Wall Street Looking Good First days in "09 but Will it last?

In the first week of "09 I thought it would be good to check how the economic start was so I stopped by my good ole' buddies site who owns digitalmusicnews.com for the new and exclusive updates and numbers of how all these major companies finished out, and any special roadmaps in the 1st Quarter.

I stumbled upon this article and once again big shout-out to Digitalmusicnews.com for always bringing the latest news in the digital music and economic realm.....

Alongside the bubbly and resolutions, Wall Street bounced back during its first trading day of 2009. Light trading produced mostly mediocre results around Christmas, though optimism pushed the Dow Jones past 9,000 on January 2nd. That is the first post-9,000 finish since early November, and a potential sign for broader gains ahead.

Sound too optimistic? Bottom-feeders are reflecting on a year that witnessed a decline of roughly 4,000 points, just one part of a crater-like 2008. Forecasts on 2009 sway both ways, though music stocks remain distressed - and potentially ripe for buying. That includes Apple (AAPL), still trading at $90.75, a whopping 53.4 percent drop from a year-ago valuation of $194.93.

Live Nation (LYV), battered by broader winds and fears of softening attendance, currently exists at $5.60, down 61 percent from a year-ago tag of $14.36. Ticketmaster (TKTM), now at $6.63, slipped 72 percent from an August debut of $23.71.

Others are also badly bruised. Warner Music Group (WMG), at $3.24, is down 44.2 percent to from a year-ago valuation of $5.81. The Orchard (ORCD) is down 38.8 percent to $1.99, from $3.25 at the start of 2008. Sirius XM Radio (SIRI), at 12.2 cents, is down 96.2 percent from a year-ago $3.25; Source Interlink Companies (SORC), at 14 cents, is down 95.2 percent from $2.89; and SanDisk, at $11.08, is down 66.6 percent from its early-2008 price of $33.17.

Meagen Good and Limayah Looking Good at Jamie Fox NYE Event

Meagan Good and her sister Limayah were two of the many bangers that rolled up to the Jamie Foxx hosted New Years Eve Extravaganza at Karu & Y in Miami. Here are some pics of some of these celebs looking their best to bring in the New Year. "09 Baby"!!

New Lloyd Banks "My Brother's Keeper"

Although his last album was pretty wack, I always thought Lloyd banks has the talent to be the best in G-Unit, I just feel like his drive slowed up a bit. His first album was a classic and was vicious, but his sophomore debut was some horrible material. This brand new track reminds me of the first album Banks! I hope the homie keeps it up.

You Got To Love Britney Spears

I know... the title might seem a bit wack, but It's true. About a year ago she looked like she was going to go the Amy Winehouse route and was going through breakdowns every other day. I remember seeing those pictures people used to take of her and she looked like white trash. But now she has the last laugh because no matter what she does, people still buy her albums.

Now she is looking better than ever and once again has a #1 album and she seems like she is maintaining her sanity. I guess that loser K-Fed only fucked her up temporarily.

Check out this quick review I came across on her latest album

Circus is the sixth studio album by American pop singer Britney Spears. Jive Records, in collaboration with Zomba Label Group and Sony Music Entertainment, released it on November 28, 2008. Having moved over 505,000 copies in the United States in its first week, Circus debuted on the Billboard 200 at number one, making it Spears’s fifth number-one album. The feat made Spears the only act in Nielsen SoundScan history to have four albums debut with 500,000 or more copies sold. The album sold 1,2+ million copies in World.

The first single, “Womanizer”, became Spears’s first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 since her debut “…Baby One More Time”, almost 10 years prior. The second single, the title track of the album, “Circus”, debuted at number three on the Hot 100 chart.

Check out some pics of the new Britney. Kind of sexy!

John Travolta's 16-year-old son dies in Bahamas

Once again I really don't like to talk about depressing stuff but since Johnny boy is one of my favorite actors, I thought I would show some respect.

Big-Ups to Yahooomg news for this one.

John Travolta's teenage son, Jett, died in the Bahamas after falling ill and hitting his head at his family's vacation home, police said Friday. A house caretaker found Jett, 16, unconscious in a bathroom late Friday morning. He was taken by ambulance to a Freeport hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from chief police superintendent Basil Rahming.

The teenager had last been seen going into the bathroom on Thursday and had a history of seizures, according to the statement. Police said they are planning an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Joe Buddens Airs Ransom Out

Not sure how many Joe Buddens fans we have reading this, but as for me, videos like these is what makes me not a fan. Lyrically I think he is okay, and yes I have listened to most of his hardest mixtapes out and even his digital album he is getting ready to drop on Amalgam Digital. I am also familiar with Ransom's work and I must say I think he is much nicer than the homie Buddens. Joe Buddens drops videos barking way to much for his actual bite. As a matter fact you be the judge! check out the 1st video which is Ransom tearing Joe Buddens a new ass-hole and underneath that Joe Buddens weak ass retaliation.

Enjoy my people!!

Oooops fresh out the oven here is a brand new Ransom Diss track to Joe Buddens...

Lil' Kim Unhappy About B.I.G. Movie

With the premiere of the biographical film about the Notorious B.I.G. just two weeks away, Lil’ Kim has expressed her disapproval of the movie’s portrayal of her relationship with B.I.G., and takes on the rapper’s mother and wife who gave it the green light.

While Biggie’s label boss Sean “Diddy” Combs and widowFaith Evans were both involved in the biopic, Lil’ Kim—who had both a professional and personal relationship with the rapper—was not involved at all stages of the project.

During the casting of the film, it was rumored that Kim was unhappy that producers picked Naturi Naughton of 3LW fame to play her. It was also speculated that Kim felt her relationship with B.I.G. was sensationalized. She’s now blaming Big’s mother, Ms. Wallace, and wife, Faith Evans, for their involvement.

Album sales plunge, digital downloads up...

Big up to Yahoo News for this one, check out the whole article...

Music sales have continued to slump in 2008 as the increased number of downloads of digital tracks failed to make up for a plunge in the sale of compact discs.

Year-end sales figures released Wednesday by The Nielsen Co. show total album sales, including album equivalents made up of single digital tracks, fell to 428.4 million units, down 8.5 percent from 500.5 million in 2007.

Physical album sales fell 20 percent to 362.6 million from 450.5 million, while digital album sales rose 32 percent to a record 65.8 million units.

Digital track sales, such as those conducted in Apple Inc.'s iTunes Music Store, were up 27 percent from last year, breaking the 1 billion mark for the first time at 1.07 billion.

The report continues a troubling trend for the recording industry, which has a harder time maintaining profits when consumers buy single songs instead of albums. The number of transactions rose 10.5 percent to 1.5 billion, although the figure treats single track and whole album purchases the same.

"You can see the overall unit sales as a positive, but their model is really built on album sales and that just continues to decline," said Silvio Pietroluongo, director of charts for Billboard magazine.

"Music consumption has never been at a higher clip, it's just a matter of trying to turn it into revenue," he added.

Some record labels are making progress. Craig Kallman, chief executive of Warner Music Group Corp.'s Atlantic Records, whose artists include Kid Rock and T.I., said his label passed a milestone in the year to September by having its digital revenue exceed that from physical CD sales.

The label, the top-selling in the U.S. in 2008, has had to become more careful in choosing which artists to promote and more patient in waiting for their songs to break out, he said.

"You have to really be right about your hits. If you're going to invest that amount of time in them and not run as many records, you have to be way more right today than wrong," Kallman said.

Nielsen SoundScan said album sales fell in every genre. Classical music saw the biggest drop at 26 percent, followed by country at 24 percent and Latin at 21.1 percent.

Taylor Swift was the year's best-selling artist with more than 4 million albums sold, followed by AC/DC, Lil Wayne and Coldplay. Sugarland finished No. 8.

Swift had two albums on Nielsen's Top 10 sales list: her self-titled debut at No. 6 and her sophomore album "Fearless" at No. 3.

"Taylor Swift is a great artist development story that started as organically as you can in the digital age," said Scott Borchetta, president and CEO of her label, Big Machine Records. "It involved online, non-stop radio tours and strategic TV opportunities which led to non-stop touring. But — most importantly — Taylor connected with her fans like no other artist in 2008."

Lil Wayne had the year's top-selling album, "Tha Carter III," with 2.87 million units sold, with Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" (2.14 million) and Swift's "Fearless" (2.11 million) rounding out the top three.

The top selling digital artist was Rihanna with 9.94 million tracks sold, followed by Swift and Kayne West.

Ironically, as digital downloads grew, vinyl album sales also climbed. In 2008, more vinyl albums were purchased (1.88 million) than any other year since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.

More than two of every three vinyl albums were purchased at an independent music store during the year, the company reported. The top selling vinyl albums were Radiohead's "In Rainbows" (26,000 units), the Beatles' "Abbey Road" (16,500) and Guns 'N Roses' "Chinese Democracy" (13,600).

Nielsen also reported that music sales exceeded 65 million in the final week of 2008, representing the biggest sales week in the history of Nielsen SoundScan. The previous record was Christmas week of 2007 with 58.4 million music purchases.
