Buckshot Hospitalize due to Seizures

The Brooklyn emcee was scheduled to perform at a sold-out show in Manhattan featuring other Duck Down artists including Sean Price, Rock, Tek, Steele and others. The label’s CEO Dru Ha detailed the unexpected trail of events in an email last night (September 25).

“Tomorrow’s SOLD OUT Black Moon & Smif N Wessun 'Tribute To Classics' performance at NYC’s Knitting Factory has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 8th due to a Buckshot health issue,” Dru wrote in an e-mail message to SOHH. “Upon returning from a 3 week European tour Black Moon and Boot camps front man, Buckshot suffered what appears to be a series of seizures. He was immediately hospitalized where he remains in stable condition.”

Bye Bye to TRL

Dave Sirulnick, executive producer of "TRL," said Monday that the music video countdown show will conclude in a two-hour special on a Saturday afternoon in November. He stressed that the show wasn't ending for good, but felt now was the right time to give it a break after an unprecedented run on the cable music channel.

Will Smith Prequel to I Am Legend

According to Variety, Warner Bros. the flick starts off as news about a plague-ridden virus begins to spread. Giving audience members a grasp on I Am Legend’s background, the follow-up movie is expected to answer all of the unclear questions brought up in the 2007 box office hit - which reportedly made over $536 million worldwide.

September 25, 2008. MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind that hip hop pioneer Shawn "Jay Z" Carter may be on the verge of pulling off the biggest deal in the history of hip hop. According to people extremely senior at a major record label, Jay Z is looking to sign some of the top artists in urban music to his newly launched label.

The executive, who spoke to MediaTakeOut.com on the condition of anonymity explained, "Jay Z approached 50 Cent [whose contract ends with Interscope in December] earlier this year and now he's talking to Janet [Jackson] and Jermaine Dupri ... It seems like a difficult task to get so many big artists under one roof, but I wouldn't put anything past [Jay Z]."

And another industry insider was far more optimistic about the prospects of the new label. That insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "[Jay Z] is probably the only person in music that could put together the financing to make [signing] talent of that calibre possible."

Obama Effigy Hung From Ore. Campus Tree

Aministrators at an Oregon college are trying to get to the bottom of who hung a cardboard effigy of Barack Obama from a campus tree Tuesday. The incident at George Fox University appeared to be in protest of a scholarship program geared toward minorities. A George Fox University employee discovered the life-size cutout of the Democratic presidential candidate hanging from a campus tree with a fishing line around its neck. Posted on the cardboard effigy was a sign that read "Act Six Reject." Act Six is a program that promotes campus diversity and urban leadership. It annually awards full scholarships to up to 10 students most of whom -- but not all -- are minorities.

Last night was the reunion show and it was pure entertainment. Supposedly one of the dudes on there is a rapper that goes by the name E6. He decided to spit a diss rhyme against this real short dude that goes by the name of Kasan. Apparently they were beefing with one another when they were in the household. 50 Cent in Director's Chair

Multi-platinum selling rapper 50 Cent will make his directorial debut in the upcoming film Before I Self-Destruct, set to hit theaters this winter.
Similar to his first theatrical release, no tracks from the album, Before I Self-Destruct, will be featured on the soundtrack. However, this strategy was based on recruiting a roster of unsigned artists and creating a separate score to keep his label from being involved.

DMX Rushed To The Hospital

Looks like the crack finally caught up to the boy DMX. X was recently rushed to a Hospital in Aventura for "Fear of a stroke". Ironically he was scheduled to appear in court today but it is unlikely that he will be able to attend due to his condition. In addition to facing felony drug possession charges, X is also expected to defend his numerous traffic violations, animal cruelty accusations, plus defrauding a hospital with an invalid Social Security number and name.

With all that said, I just want to give props to my boy X for dropping some of the most classic joints. I was listening to his first album today in my Ipod and that song "Stop Being Greedy" is still a bonified classic! It's a shame how people can be at the height of their career and just fall off because of some reckless shyt. Get well X!!

Donnie Klang (To Be Or Not To Be)

Donnie tried out for Making Of The Band and instead of striking a group deal he actually got a solo deal. As you know when Puff sees talent and signs you to a solo deal on national TV, the whole world starts to look at you closely.

I have been observing this dude and Day 26 and I have a perfect explanation to why he is not selling any records. When i see him on the new Making Of the Band episode, watch his performances, and check out his video, it is obvious that homeboy is not authentic. he is almost like a robot, doing things people are telling him to do. When singing, he sounds like he is just trying to follow the blueprint someone else laid out for him to do. I hear and see no originality what so ever. Even Justin Timberlake has originality in his music. I think we are at an age in music where people are looking to buy albums that represent authenticity rather than just a pop artist trying to follow the blueprint someone has laid out for them (Even if they're signed to Diddy). Real recognize real people, so artists..... remember, even if someone else is writing your shyt, always make it your own and be innovative. Do you and the numbers will follow!

Kanye West & John Legend Jump On Obama Campaign Soundtrack

Mega superstars like Kanye West, John Legend and Stevie Wonder will be featured on the official soundtrack to Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement.

According to the Associated Press, the disc will be sold exclusively via Obama’s campaign for $24.99 if purchased digitally and $30 for a physical copy. Profits will aid in helping fund his campaign through the Presidential Election on November 4.

If done right, this could be something Epic and groundbreaking. It's crazy how mauic can have such a big effect on people, and how it projects expression and feeling towards a movement. Let's just hope the songs don't have ludacris in them hahahaha.

Tay Zonday Internet Phenomenon Now On Thumbplay

If you haven't heard of this dude, then it's about time I introduce you. This is an example of how skill or talent really has nothing to do with penetrating the internet airways. Tay Zonday managed to bully his way in the Internet media avenue and managed to get a lot of publicity for it. His famous for his youtube clip "Chocolate Rain". See the video below. He was in the Best Week ever which airs on VH1, Good Morning America, New Weezer Video, and in the Teen Choice Awards. All because he knew how to strategically promote on the internet using new media tools. Lesson learned is keep grinding, and keep studying different forms of media and maybe one day you can be the next Tay Zonday :)

Record Labels and ScanDisk Launch New Music Format

Backed by EMI Music, Sony BMG, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group, the "new" format will basically be an entire album on a MicroSD card. The large retailers Wal-Mart and Best Buy have already agreed to begin selling the cards starting in November.




A WSJ article adds that the "initial release batch will be 29 albums from all four of the involved labels. The releases are mostly by current pop artists including Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, New Kids on the Block, Weezer, Usher, Chris Brown, Akon and Leona Lewis," the story stays.

I believe every great Media publication, or entertainment source has a section where they have album reviews or album release information so since I feel that my opinion is extremely relevant to urban community I decided to create one. Coming soon on the right hand side of this page you will get album release info broken down by months. Why do I do this??? because the game needs me and like the wise word of John Macclain "I would relax if they can do it better than me, but they can't so i'm going to do it".
There is no better title for this album. When listening to this album you almost feel the void, the lack of generating something better, and the overall downward spiral in hip hop music and the economy. Jeezy fans will not be dissapointed, because Jeezy still delivers on every track like it's his last. You can still feel and hear the hunger in his voice and the clever adlibs which he did not abuse in this album. When listening to the album I felt a sense of simplicity. there were a couple of metaphors that were slick but apart from that there was no lyrical wittyness, or clever lines that used to really inspire you when Jeezy spit. I would say that this is a step down from his first two albums but not a bad album overall. If you haven't listened to it, I would suggest that you check it out!! Former Blink-182 Travis Barker and celebrity disk Jockey DJ AM, have been critically injured in brutal plane crash that killed 4 people. Sources say that the Lair jet malfunctioned at take off and spilled off the runway and crashed. Barker and DJ AM are in critical and stable condition at a burn center in GA. New KITT Car

KITT is loaded with special features such as the commonly-used Turbo Boost, which allows quick bursts of speed or jumping over obstacles. KITT could also drive himself, but perhaps his most distinct and recognizable aspect was his front mounted scan bar which, among other things, allowed KITT to "see". KITT's body panels were coated with an advanced "molecular bonded shell" armor coating which would resist conventional weapon fire as well as most artillery and explosive blasts although a strong direct hit by those attacks could cause severe damage.



KITT underwent a major modification during a refit in 1985 which included the addition of "Super Pursuit Mode" and a convertible top.

KITT had many features, most of which had an activation button associated with them that were on panels mounted on either side of the steering wheel or on a console mounted on the ceiling of the interior. Many of these button functions seem to change around, appearing and disappearing, or rearranging from episode to episode. Some were used once and never seen again.

Although I thought that show "From G's To Gents" was a little bit fake, I found it to be shocking how Fonzworth Bentley had these dudes completely transformed. I would never think a dude like that had enough balls to be around street dudes. After all Fonzworth Bentley used to be Puff's personal assistant and used to work for a couple of other people. Anyway the winner of the show is this Dude named Creeper who first came to the house on some real hood shyt, but left the house a completely different person. Nate Dogg Paralyzed After 2nd Stroke

Former Death Row recording artist and noted collaborator Nate Dogg is paralyzed on the left side of his body after suffering a mild stroke over the holidays. This is actually his second stroke and it's not looking too good for the homie. I don't about you guys, but some of my favorite joints have Nate Dogg on the hook of them. For you sport fans out there, last night was a great game. I believe it was one of the highest scoring games in NFL history. I had display this clip because it shows how cocky and stupid some of these athletes can be. As we all know Desean Jackson's ego often gets the best of him, and it did exactly that at last nights game. He caught a great pass and within inches of getting a touchdown he decides to throw the ball away thinking, that he was clear of the touchdown.
